Sam has a wealth of experience working with dogs in both rescue and education, completing her HND in animal science and behaviour then starting her career at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and then went on to work for one of the largest rescue centres in The Netherlands. There, she focused on behavioural assessment, procedures, and rehoming.
More recently Sam has spent the last 15 years working in the pet food industry as a behaviour, training and nutrition advisor at Leominster Pet Centre, and providing nutrition support to behaviour cases. Her true passion lies in canine nutrition and its impact on behaviour. Recognising how closely diet can influence a dog’s wellbeing, mood, and learning, Sam went on to qualify as a canine nutritionist, completing the Canine Nutrition Ofqual Level 3 with iPET and the Level 4 mentorship with the Association of Pet Nutrition Consultants (APNC). Her focus now being diet behaviour and the microbiome. This specialist knowledge allows her to help owners find practical, everyday solutions to support their dogs’ health and behaviour.
Her approach is compassionate, evidence-based, and focused on helping owners understand the connection between what their dogs eat and how they feel and behave.
